Nice to Meet you!

Picture
Who am I?
First and foremost, I'm a Christian. My worth comes from being a child of the King. I'm a part of His royal family. I am saved and sanctified, washed in the blood of Jesus.
I'm also a teacher. An aspiring author. Fledgling blogger. Avid reader. Country girl. Fantasy geek. Hearing impaired. Semi-successful gardener. Animal lover. Southern gospel music fan. Tentative farmer. Home-school graduate. Daughter. Sister. Friend. And single.

This is me! Living God's purpose today, not tomorrow. I'm not waiting for life to come to me; I want to grab it now. It may not be an exciting life, compared to others, but it's mine. And I want to get the most out of it.

A Little Background

I'm the oldest of four and still live in the same rural town I was born in. My mom homeschooled me from fifth grade until graduation (along with all my siblings) so it's no surprise I still have a heart for homeschooling. Ironically, I went back to public school to teach and just finished my sixteenth year.
I also broke my own horse to ride, co-owned a boutique with my sister for a few years, and had my picture taken with the original red Power Ranger AND Wally and the Beaver (Leave it to Beaver). Impressed yet? LOL

Writing Bio

Honestly, I can't remember when I started writing. From the time I could hold a pencil and form legible words, stories rumbled around in my imagination, begging to be written. And so I wrote them. Not all of them were good, but they were necessary to grow as a writer. today, I've written everything from curriculum to poetry to novels.

I published my first book in 2006, a Christian romance called "Grace Beyond the Border." A sequel and a MG fantasy followed shortly after. I was such an inexperienced, over-eager new author then, but I learned a lot about the process and have grown as an author and a businessperson since. It takes mistakes and experience to fully appreciate one's successes.

Since then I've written multiple flash fiction stories for Havok at www.gohavok.com and have short stories in a variety of anthologies:
Twenty Hills Publishing anthologies: What Darkness Fears, Sharper Than Thorns, Fool's Honor, Wither and Bloom
Kids Anthologies: Tales of Many Volumes 1 and 2 (Twenty Hills Publishing)
The Sun Still Rises anthology (independently publishing)
Season Six: Casting Call (Havok)

But my greatest passion is writing books. Books about insecure people learning finding their self-worth in a Creator who formed them with a purpose. Books about flawed men and women making mistakes and becoming stronger in the learning. And interestingly, most of my books end up with cute animal friends that add a little joy and companionship in the midst of my characters' struggles.

My current book, Shadowcast, is available now, wherever books are sold. Books 2 and 3 are slated to release in fall of 2024 and 2025.
